Aircraft Hire

Hey guys, am looking at getting some hours up and was just wondering whether anyone knew of some aircraft with reasonably good rates with around 6-8 seats. Preferably a C210 or a twin in the victoria/nsw region.

Are there any C210's for hire in that region? Is there a pressurised one around?

Also, are there many light twin/single aircraft that are pressurised? How much would a pressurisation endo cost and what's involved?

Cheers

There aren't that many pressurised GA aircraft - especially ones avail for Private Hire - I'd imagine insurance requirements will be quite significant.

Some GA Presurised A/C I can think of off the top of my head are (from cheapest to most expensive)

P210
Some C337 mixmasters
Some Aerostars
C340
C414
C421
Piper Mojave
Beech Duke
Some Twin Aero Commanders (like 685 Grand Commander)
TBM700

Not alot of point in pres endo until you NEED to. There is alot to be said for some good C210 time etc.

If you are cost sharing remember that you can only do that with up to 6 seats

CAR Definitions Pg 31

(7A) An aircraft that carries persons on a flight, otherwise than in
accordance with a fixed schedule between terminals, is employed in a
private operation if:
(a) public notice of the flight has not been given by any form of
public advertisement or announcement; and
(b) the number of persons on the flight, including the operating crew,
does not exceed 6; and
(c) no payment is made for the services of the operating crew; and
(d) the persons on the flight, including the operating crew, share
equally in the costs of the flight; and
(e) no payment is required for a person on the flight other than a
payment under paragraph (d).

Just being pedantic but it's not the number of seats the a/c has - it's the number of people on board.

Six people can take a 747 on private ops if they feel so inclined.....

Merry Christmas all,

UTR.

True, as you can take any number of passengers without cost sharing.
Any number if the PIC pays for the aircraft.
Thanks for clarification
