Avalon ILS Fees
G'day folks,
Just wondering what the industries view is of the recent price increase for all approaches at Avalon?
In case you havn't heard, the price is now $40 + GST for all ILS, NDB, Touch and Go's ect... Plus an additional fee of $50 + GST if you conduct the approach after 9pm!
In my opinion this is a bit rich since Linfox don't even pay for the upkeep of these navaids. To the best of my knowledge this is Airservices responsibility.
Your thoughts.....

From the Moorabbin airport website:
The Aerodrome Landing Fees Bill 2003 will come into effect in Victoria on 1st January 2004. The purpose of this Bill is to provide that an aerodrome operator may fix a fee for the arrival, departure or parking of an aircraft, a training flight approach by an aircraft or the provision of any directly related activity. This Bill establishes legal liability for aerodrome charges on the holder of the Certificate of Registration of an aircraft.
So, you can thank the Victorian government for legislating this impost.
Where the hell was AOPA?

Airports privately owned also own the ILS's etc and pay for the upkeep. Airservices provide the flight check and bill accordingly. So the owner then passes on these charges to those that want to utilise the aid.
Simple.
Simple.
