Is aviation a people industry?

This has been an interesting thread - thanks to hatfork12 for starting it. From the postings, you can see that aviation is all about the people who trained you, the people who have sat you down over a coffee and had a "little chat", and the people who have flown with you. (Note separation of flying and training - aviation isn't just about flying.)

Because every instructor is different, they will all pick their "pet topic" out of the same syllabus that everyone uses. This standard syllabus will train a standard pilot, but a good instructor will go beyond it and invest more into a student. EVERY organisation has some good instructors, so pick one that will make you better than standard, stick with them, and enjoy it.

Thanks for the kind offer Wombat35 - I look forward to re-learning how to land! I agree on the importance of good attitudes at Ardmore.

LocoDriver - why would anyone want to send ZK-DAN home?
