East coast surveillance with Cessna Caravans
Heard a rumour on the tarmac, that a contract is out for air surveillance using Cessna Caravans for the Australian East Coast.
National Air Support being the ones running the operation looking for crew.
NAS - NJS - SAPL................hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Thoughts anyone?

Don't know mate, anything is possible until can find out more detail, apparently the tender went out from Coastwatch according to my source.
Need some confirmation, was unable to find anything via google searches.

I'm not aware of any rumours like that going around within SAPL (but then, I'm out of the loop pretty much.) I had always thought that Customs were not interested in single engine aircraft (turbine or not.)
I wonder if someone has got their wires crossed?
NAS via SAPL currently operate Reims F406 Caravan II aircraft and, as always, are looking for crews - for the current contract, not any new one.

You are kinda on the mark Gordstar... but kinda not. I wish I could say more... At present there just be rumours but an anouncement I forsee will not be to far around the corner.
