Mendaero - My preferred viewpoint, for any show, is an elevated position .. and I've watched the Australia Day fireworks display from those viewpoints (an aerial display, if ever there was one!) .. and enjoyed it immensely, as compared to craning your neck from Langley Park and the Sth Perth foreshore.
Langley Pk has many trees, which tends to block your view .. and both Langley Pk and the Sth Perth foreshore tend to get pretty crowded, when a show is on.
If you're on the foreshore, and unhappy with the view, you can walk right up the face of the escarpment from the SE side, via Jacobs ladder, which commences just Nth of the roundabout on Mts Bay Rd, which is just NW of the Narrows Bridge. The exercise won't hurt you one little bit ..
Here's some pics of the view from Kings Park .. SanderH has the best pic of the Red Bull course .. Langley Pk just to the left, of the centre of the pic .. Sth Perth foreshore, out of camera range, on the right ..

Onetrack, seeing a 24 inch Chrysanthemum blowing up over Perth Water may be OK from Kings Park but an itsy bitzy aero racer not much bigger than a car may be a different story. These things are going to be low, so I think Mendaero may be on the money re locations. That's where I'll be.

I'd be very keen to go across the ditch this year, but definately out of the price bracket, it is a shame that the 540s have such an advantage on the Edges, even Mike Goulian's uprated machine hasn't appeared to bridge the gap.
