If the requirement to wear corrective lenses is a condition on your medical certificate, most regulators require you to have a second pair. That requirement is not stated on your medical certificate, but it is in the regulations.
A friend of mine was ramped-checked at an overseas airport, and they asked to see his second pair of glasses. Cunning little buggers! I carry 2 spare pairs in case I lose one!

Actually had that very situation on my NVFR test years ago. The ATO thought he had me because he had only seen one pair plus prescription sunnies, until I fished out the spare pair from my shirt pocket.

To cover the two specs requirement, I carried two pairs of normal specs to my current prescription to cover night flights and a pair of prescription sunnies to use during the day. Also, whenever I got new glasses, the old pair went straight into the bottom of the nav bag, because if needed, an old prescription is better than nothing.

For the "Spare" Problem

Now i'm planning to wear contacts + Sunglasses. And i will also bring my glasses for the "spare".
If there is any problem about my contacts, then i could use my "spare" glasses.
If there is any problem about my sunglasses, then i will only put down my sunglasses!

is that ok?

Hey Mark_Tuck, as my known, there are difference kinds of Contacts:
- 1 day (each pair will be used one day then become rubbish! )
- 2weeks (each pair could be used 2weeks, then have to be thrown away)
- 1 month (like 2weeks, but could be used a month)
- Permanent (normally can be used arround 2 years, then your degree of short-sight will change)

Except "1-day", all others you have to "wash" it after used(everyday!! ). Furthermore, difference "brands" will also have difference "models" of their contacts(such as, some is claimed more comfortable/ "wet" or some claimed could be worn long time ).

For the cost, coz i've bought it in HongKong, so my case may not suit for you ($220 HKD for 15 pairs of "1-day")!! But the " 1-day" Must be the most expensive! And if you have also "astigmatism", then the cost will be much higher!
