"Identification Terminated"
When leaving Radar coverage, we are now advised of - Identification Terminated, instead of the trusty old Radar Ident Lost, continue on CPDLC etc.
Just hoping some friendly ATCer can educate me on the nuance of this change.
Current operating system - 'Heavy' with CPDLC+ADC

BSD,
the term "Identification terminated" replaced "Radar services terminated" with the roll out of ADS-B. "Identification terminated" also refers to ADS-B equipped aircraft leaving ADS-B coverage, ie. it is a blanket term used when an aircraft leaves surveillance coverage.
But, even if an ADS-B aircraft leaves radar coverage but remains in ADS-B coverage (ie. the aircraft is still identified), for the time being it will be subject to procedural separation standards (ie 30 RNAV longitudinal).
