Mile High Club in Mel Question for Woomera

Woomera,

Dont get me wrong, I am not really in favour of such flying ops, and from here in Gods Country , don't really mind what they do in Melbourne, so I have no angle on this thread. But really was the thread you locked really and advertisment?????

I have seen a few times lately where Woomera have shut down, edited or otehrwise become involved in things and wondered why, and at times seen stuff and wondered why have they not, and yes you have a "no win" job in being a moderator on this site particularly, but this was not an ad for anyone.

To me it looked like a question asking did anyone know of an operator with the right plane and AOC. Fair Question to ask.

If I asked.....Anybody know of a good operator in Gladstone ....for whatever reason......take me for a scenic flight or because I want to hire them for say employee transfers to a remote site......whats the difference.

I don't think it was that unfare of a request. Maybe I am wrong...but what do the other mods and our fellow PPRUNERS think?

All is fair in love and war they say!

Cheers

Gday,
Tks for the support.
I did send Woomera a P.m. regarding this last night citing the exact same reason that you have stated.
cheers

As only one head of the many-headed Woomera I'd postulate that the reason that some things go and some don't is that there are so many heads that what one sees as contrary to the basic tennets of Dunnunda, another doesn't.

It's not perfect, nor are we. As has been said before, and before that, and before that again, we are working people who try to keep things on the rails.

The original post in this Woomera's opinion was seeking an AOC to use and and aircraft to use, to make money. That's different to some one asking, 'who's hiring'. It still seems to me to be a business venture and as we're in the business of defraying the not insubstantial costs of providing what is mostly a free website, free business advertising's not one of the free services.

Northern W

ps bearcuban, you weren't "singled" out. Some may have gotten a lucky break, others not.

AT least this is now not so serious

Woomera of North, mate I do not disagree with you one bit, advertising is one thing, but the guy was asking if there was anyone around with something he was interested in. But I guess its a hard line and you can't win!!

Speaking of a hard line....mate, I am sure you are a nice guy and all (or maybe lady) but I am male, straight and not requiring any extra services, but I would certainly buy the drinks if you wanto to catch up at the Breaky Creek. AND NO THATS NOT AN OPEN IVITE TO ALL PPRUNERS

Anyway keep up the good work Woom!

PS: Pass a Frozo...maybe you should get to the Breaky creek and Pass a Frothy one or two around!

Cheers

J340. I had a read over the original thread and this thread and would have taken the same action as my Northern Woomera.

Moderating any PPRuNe Forum is not a precise science - in Dunnunda forums it is at best something four or five guys around Australia do for an hour or two, each day, 365 days per year. It's fair to say we get it right in the majority of cases.

Don't even think of the Brekkie Creek - that place has been the undoing of a number of Woomeri, visiting overseas Mods and PPRuNers on a number of occasions - as many in here can attest!

Undoing of Woomeri???

Nahh mate you must be confused. The Beckie Creek would never do that to ya!

Its an institution, a pillar of society.........and its pretty close to YBBN, so thats what you guys love it for

It's also the venue for the annual Dunnunda PPRuNe Bash each December.

I think!

Contact Disco Stu for details.

Ozexpat (left) and a certain Woomera (right) at last year's Dunnunda PPRuNe Bash:

Oh yeah, that's the place!
At least I THINK it's the place... can't say as how I've ever been there, in that state, during daylight!

That must be one of the old original Brisbashes, when I had hair...

J430. That photo was in the car park off Amy Street after we were thrown out of the beer garden due to Go Girl dancing on the tables.....!

Tried to find the last Brisbash threads but they seem to have gone with the software update!

Still don't aggree with Woomeras decision, but he/she is the boss...

Will try a different tact.

Has anyone got any ideas on the best way to find a Seneca with an AOC?

Is there a directory of AOC holders with phone numbers that I can call one-by-one?

cheers

Publicity.....

you know what they say, any publicity is........

Might be a more tolerated question.....but I suspect that with the intent already shown I suspect a click is coming:

Thanks Scrambler,
I tried it, but it is a tedious process that does not have contact details.
Any other ideas?
cheers,
