really though, it is a way of getting all your cpl/atpl papers, and doing all your flying through to cpl without having to worry about where the next hour is going to be paid for. you'll end up with $70-odd k on the tab, a couple of university papers, and a 'diplopma', which is really just a piece of paper to say that you've done the work at the school. you could save quite a bit by sitting all your exams prior to doing any flying.
have a look at waikato aero club, north shore aero club, auckland aero club, new plymouth aero club and some others.
i'll be up at ardmore tomorrow weather permitting and i'll be happy to talk to you about it if you want.

Hey man, good to see some one so young intrested in aviation!
I started learning to fly doing my ppl when i was 15 and still at school, going out to the local aero club in the weekends. Went solo at 16 and decided that flying is what i want to do as a career so i left school at the end of 6th form and enrolyed for the diploma in aviation science to study full time. a year and a half later i hold a cpl, multi engine instrument rating and c-cat instructor at age 18. i am now undersupervision instruting on saturdays.
Age dosent seen to be a concern from what i have experienced its just about maturaty.
I funded this through a student loan which are now intrest free
I rekon get involved as early as you can and get a head start!!! even by starting the ppl exams??
Good Luck for those NCEA exams!!!
