Alliance pay

Can anyone let me know the payscales for the engineers will be in perth. I have heard that it is less than the brissy engineers. I was told that the brissy boys knocked back the positions in perth because of the difference. Are the guys in brisbane on an awa and will the perth guys be the same. thanks

Why would Skywest want to help a company that out bid them on a contract, and then give the same company a foothold in the WA market

All Brisbane staff were encouraged to apply for the Perth based positions a week or so before the ads in the Australian. As far as I know there are still some Brissie engineers interested in moving over there.

Exactly why would you ?

It may seem a bit like horses for courses, but there is a difference between
exactly why not help them
and
You don't say no to extra revenue do you
(my bolding).

1st - No, I would not knock back extra revenue if able, but it would be at a much over inflated price. Especially if you are stretched in your own operation as Skywest engineering seems to be at the moment.

2nd - Why would you give revenue to another company if you have the capital to set up your own engineering operation.

3rd - Yes they are "coming regardless", but they will become competitors to a cut throat industry. This sort of competition could cause Skywest to start Bonding, Charging endos or reducing pay (again).

4th - The did out bid NJS, but they were not the only two company's to tender.
