IS THIS SHONKY?
Recently our organisation has been contacted by 2 potential students who have asked us have we heard of TWENTY FIRST CENTURY AVIATION. the students want to know can we verify the bona fides of said company.
The students have been asked to put 50% cash up front for flight training at
21st, but the only contact for them appears to be through a PO Box at Bankstown (town not YSBK).
None of us have ever heard of this organisation, and we are thinking that it is probably shonky. However we do not want to stuff up someone else's genuine business.
Can anyone please advise if they know this organisation to be genuine, and its bona-fides?
The last thing we need in GA is a (nother) rip-off flight training school.
cheers

Nothing on Google, nothing on white pages, nothing on department of fair trading. Could be a shonk, but might also have another trading name, or be on selling for another school...
Probably the best advice would be not to comment on the opposition, always a good rule in business!

This from www.asic.gov.au
This is the other information on a similar name:
As of mid last month they applied for voluntary deregistration. I have no idea what that means.
Caveat Emptor.
For $25 you can get a full history of the company from this site: If you're going to outlay a swag load of cash on a CPL then $25 insurance isn't too bad!

Thanks

Many thanks. No response yet from anyone stating that they personally know of that mob, and they appear to be deregistering as a business.
The full history I think will give shareholders, but at this stage, I agree:
Caveat emptor it is...........

Seabreeze, i can't say anything about 21st century aviation as a company but I do know of a school out at Bankstown who trained a group of Singaporean 21st century students so I can only assume their money was getting through to the flying school in some capacity. They were given nice 21st century uniforms and big dreams but no idea what has become of them (they could still be out there training). I'm sure if there are instructors from this school somewhere on pprune they'll probably clear it up a bit better for you
Does the training include a guaranteed job at the end? If not then no company is worth the risk. There are so many schools competing for your money you can *always* find a less risky - often cheaper - way to do your training.
