Buying headsets online
I'm thinking of buying the David Clark H10-13.4 from an online store in OZ. I'm sure other ppruners would know which one I'm referring to (they advertise in Aviation Trader and have an address in Windosr, VIC). So I'm just wondering whether anyone has done the same and whether they're a reliable online store to be dealing with?
TIA

clark 13.4's or dc in general
dont waste your money on them....
they ask toooo much for that popular model.
Its cheap crap, made in mexico for peanuts, and getting poor pilots to pay good money for junk.
Yeah.. they are popular cause no one knows any better...
you would be better off buying a cheaper headset, and fitting the DC fat gel ear seals, make sure if has a flexi boom mic not one of those cheapie wire boom things that dont go where you want them , and if you really want, get an ANR kit for it from headsets.inc in the states. They cost $400NZ easy to fit (1:15min) and better than a DC 13.4 anr for $1400.
I brought a Sigtronics S58 flexi boom headset
http://www.sigtronics.com/air/s58.html
it weights 11.9 not 13.4 so its lighter.
I got it off ebay in states for $65 us brand new in box
Ive fitted the fat gel ear seals and an anr kit to it from headsets inc.
Its total cost was Under $500.... and its brillant!!!
just an example... enjoy your headset buying experience.

Also on the page, can anyone recommend this make and model HM17-71? I've never heard of it but it looks pretty snazzy for about the same price as the DC H10-13.4.
Thanks mattathm for your advice. Your headset looks really sexy and blue's my favourite colour too. :-) And Chadzat, thanks for the PM, but that's not the one.
Cheers!
