In the Jetconnect 'pool'
Interviewed with jetconnect in early March, offered a spot it the 'pool'. Anyone else that interviewed around that time have any more information on call up? Anyone at all been called?
I have heard that the company may be waiting to see how many pilots will take positions with Express Freighters Australia, although I don't know when these pilots are supposed to make the move and subsequently make room for the new hires....
Cheers,
Brinda

Fullreverse...
thanks for the effort to reply, I sure appreciate it.
As I have been over seas for the last 8 years, I guess I'm not really up to date on certain details. So apart from the lower wages than mainline QF, what else should I know about.... in particular, what did you want to reveal about the 'pool'
Thanks Brinda!

Must admit that I have no direct experience of the "pool" or of Jetstar - only what I hear both first and second hand. Basically, pay and conditions vastly inferior to any other jet operator in Australia (and possibly the western world).
This is especially relevant to the coming Jetstar International operation - refer to numerous other threads on this forum.
I wouldn't want to be part of it.

I don't think he was asking about Jetstar, or Aus.
Jetconnect interviewed a fair wack arround that time in anticipation of some of their pilots leaving for an Australian based operation (amongst other things). Aparently that has now fallen through, and there are a good number of pilots waiting for Jetconnect starts. I'm sure they have crews leaving for Cathay and the like, but the rate is slower than it might have been.
In terms of working conditions, from what I've heard, not too bad. Of course, most people view it as a stepping stone, and it depends what you're comparing it too.
