interviews seem to be ongoing, as for commands anything up to 5 yrs, less of you are prepared to move althought the current expansion which has been steady over the last 18 months would more than likely see 3 years as an average. (this is just my perception so no nasty comments please).

aerocom.
Interviews seem to be ongoing; every few months Rex is interviewing.
It is a tough interview; they want guys and girls that are the best. Do not even bother attending the interview if you do not know the regs and your current operation inside and out. From what I have heard the sim is tough; it's done in a Metro in Melbourne.
If you got hired now, time to a command would be about 4-5 years, unless there is a major change. i.e. a new port (BN?) or new aircraft type (unlikely in the next 5 years)
Rex is an excellent company that is here for the long run. It would provide an excellent solid long term career path for the right candidate.
As a new recruit you would be bonded and do not have to pay for your initial endorsement on the Saab 340, which is very refreshing in this current aviation environment. (i.e. Jet* =$30,000 with no job guarantee)
Keep on updating and good luck.

Aerocom - Go to the Rex web site and check the careers section you will see they are accepting applications until December 2006 - In other words employment is ongoing (when and as required) Command has been less than five years lately-but thats not a bad figure to keep in your head.
I recently interviewed the CP and other senior staff of Rex (as well as other companies) for a book on pilot interviewing if you are interested. If you want more info PM me.
