Not trying to state the obvious but why don't you just pick up the phone?

Charter pos'n

Oh, ok.

You might find there is more work and therefore more chance of employment at either the Darwin or Alice Springs base, but asking never hurt.

Good luck!

ani tayas,

give Mark or Jeff a call. You will find that not only are they good operators but they are also damn good blokes.

Direct have continued to grow and provide opportunity for persons progressing through the industry. If you saw last fridays Australian you can see that they are looking for more staff accross the board as a result of this growth.

go on pick up the phone.

Captainwhatever,

you should not make comment like that in a forum where no one knows who you are (may be , may be not) .

if you were a real bloke , you would say what you feel face to face to Jeff, so until then you will be considered otherwise.

come on i dare you.

Luv whatever, why is Capt's opinion any less relevant than yours? And you can consider his opinion any way you want to. Others may have a different view. Just how long have you been in the industry? Especially down in the south east? Not everyone is as they appear in this industry unfortunately.

I have. And he isn't the most honest person you'd meet.

Might be a good bloke to work with (JR) but ring the other operators on the field and ask them what they think of him. Apparently he has CASA on speed dial.

I agree with Captwahwah here, be very careful when dealing with the Ops Manager, what is said and done are two very different things.

What is ol HA up to these days?..........

Just joking - I don’t really care. Heard the Casuarina Donut King had the recent referb due increased sales from JR. Consequently the share price of flour and sugar went up.

What’s wrong with uniformed pilots carrying out un-approved maintenance (ie changing alternators) in full view of everybody on the airfield?

I believe the topic is Direct Air?

Oh sorry i see it has gone off the rails a little, lets start a new thread what will we call it??

I know first a thread to name the thread!

Here are a few suggestions to get started

Illegal maintenace

Why my boss made me swap the brake linings on the tarmac on a Saturday from one plane to another?

Cross hire your plane and have it used for spares without your consent.

Lets ignore SID's they will go away.

Fly your planes to Broome for maintenance (from Darwin) because no one will touch them.

I bet these titles will improve the hits and responses!

Oh, by gosh!

You bet your bottom dollar they'll improve the response rates, lamepilot. Predominantly in defence of frivolous claims such as those you put forward.

Now even if what has been alleged above was/is taking place, what's the difference between doing it on an apron vs. doing it in a hangar? I can think of a few hangars not only in Darwin, but around Australia where certain things take place that will make what you've suggested seem insignificant.

Are you suggesting for a moment that Direct Air are in the practice of illegal practices, and that they are alone in this??

I would word your posts VERY carefully.

I don't think you'd be talking them down if they weren't doing the work your company used to do...except better.
