Well 15milerock aren't you just a right little mongrel!
Whilst I have seen plenty of disgraceful behaviour displayed on pprune before, actually wishing someone to have had an accident is absolutely disgusting. Try thinking before you open your mouth next time.

Not wishing an accident on anybody, Blown Seal... just that if it happened to that company, better that he did it than one of the poor buggers that work for him. Wouldn't like to be in their shoes if that were the case.

C'mon guys, let's not take the mickey too heavily here, after all, it is a "different kettle of fish from the RH seat", right?

Perfectly understandable.

7 pob-400m

Is that corect? Seven pob on board a C206 operating out of a 400m airstrip?

Do the numbers really work out?

Seven POB for a C206 at Mabuiag is interesting. But this caught my eye:

"It is believed the aircraft skidded off the runway at the Mabuiag airport, hit a fence and ended up in a dam..."
Now, the only "dam" I recall near Mabuiag airstrip is that big one that stretches from the Arafura Sea to the Coral Sea?

bushy,
i guess it depends how big they are...could be four adults and three youths/babies...7 POB and 400 meters can work.

mabuiag Accident

If I remember correctly, if they went into the dam, then they had to skid off the runway, past the almond tree, down the road, through town and just before the school turn right and up the hill to get wet in the dam. Me thinks they got a little salty. Not the first time it happened and probably not the last.

I had to ground loop a Bongo there once to stop going off the end, but that was when it was grass.
400 metres of bitumen takes the fun out of it !!!!.......

there is a small dam just to the east of the airfield...

...400m in a C206 at max weight out of Mabuiag not a problem... and legal too...

The Dam in question is about 1/3 the way down the left side of Runway 12 and its only resident I understand is reptilian and should only be confronted by Tarzan or Steve Irwin.

Danger

Yep, thats the dam and from the call I got Mr Crocodile is getting nicely tanned on the top of the partly submerged wing. Perhaps leave the aircraft there as a water feature!!.
