Did anyone notice the very rare phenomenom in this photo,

BOTH windsocks actually pointing in the same direction?

A rare event indeed, as many past pilots will testify.

Nice photo Gimp, looks very familiar!!!!!, I'm guessing it was taken from the RH seat of a Bongo, in fact it was a red, white & blue bongo and a 300 if my memory serves me correctly.

The only reason the socks are in the same direction is because they are limp!

Thanks for the pic it does bring back memories.

A quick Q for the guys up there now, Did they ever open up the “resort”/hostel rooms available on coconut??

I always thought it would be a perfect place to sit and do nothing except read a book for a week in the sun.

Just like those immortal words….
“You no Gateway customer, You Wongai customer!”

Well Said E.

Operating up there can be a real challenge. Training and experience are your best defence. Unfortunatley everyone has to start at the bottom end of the scale. Keep your head high and stay safe.

STLTH, put the incident behind you and put the lessons learned in the bag of experience. You're not the first and wont be the last. An old saying is the trick is to fill the bag of experience with out emptying the bag of luck. Good luck in your career.
