Bloke told me was German, Good instructor, his Father flew ME 109's.

Gerry Grandt died in a helicopter crash in SE Asia. RIP.

In the 1960's -70's it was topical and still relevant today.

If anyone would take the advice, I would suggest they go gliding and achieve a silver C. Then start powered flying. A bit like riding a 250cc motorbike for 12 months and if you'r still alive take up driving lessons, because the defensive riding of the previous would make you a good driver.

Bob;I tend to agree with your comment re attaining Silver C standard.
I was a somewhat late starter to power flying. Started training at 28 yrs but had a Gold C, two diamonds.
Still think that the background was invaluable! Possibly kept me alive!

you're born. Once when
you've looked death in the face.

So do Aero clubs, sausage factories or the little building down the lane with a couple of planes produce the best pilots?

I like that ME ME ME ME ME!

Maybe I've just been spending to much time in JB....

Oh yes and Rayban's, they won't make you a good pilot, but you will look good.

OK, back to JB for me....

Nothing can make a good pilot, a good pilot is someone who you do not notice , therefore you will never experience a good pilot because of eveyone's attitudes are different. But in the old scale good pilots were people, yes people who flew planes and had fun, how many of you are are having fun........
