jetpack ..yeah mate,it was nice of woo to cancel it just because he was having a bad hair day
The DO-328 is a Dream to fly mate
Six bladed prop,very quiet
Primus 2000 nav package
HUD...heads up display for the nasty apps(optional)
Trailing link landing gear, hard to crash one on
TAS....about 310kts
Surface Ceiling FL310(above the bottom feeder alts)
Narrow landing gear, making strong X/wind ldgs a breeze
just a couple of the many great traits of this A/C
On the down side:
Very expensive to operate...labour and parts, the Germans want the dosh!
We had many problems operating in winter snow conditions. There are quite a few micro-switches located in the landing gear area and these froze on many occasions giving false ldg gear/door indications.
Cargo area a little small, but hey theres never enough room
A couple of other problems but just small stuff. Not sure how the will work in the aussie environment, but personally,I think they will do well if the operation is run well, and if you get a chance to get your hands on one,do it,its a beautiful and well managed piece of equipment.......PB

The last thread was cloased because it was turning into the old ex-Dornier Pilots' Appreciation Society.
So stay on topic people or this one will go the same way.

Can we get this thread back on track please.
The closing dates have now passed, for both the 'The Australian' and the 'Flight International' adverts.
Has there been much interest from both within and outside Australia?
Does anyone know the actual terms and conditions for both line Captain and Check Captain? Is the endorsement bonded or pay up front? Sounds expensive sending people to BRU for the simulator, I take it the ground school is in Darwin?
If someone knows anything I am sure quite a few PPRuNers' would love to know.
