Student Pilot in Race Riot

Accused rioters face court
From: AAP By Alyssa Braithwaite
March 02, 2006
A STUDENT pilot has pleaded guilty to a charge of riot over last year's racially motivated attacks in Cronulla against people of Middle Eastern appearance.
David Anthony Coleman, 21, of Jannali, has already admitted to assaulting Safi Merhi during the December 11 riot, and was today among a group of men to be bailed on assault and riot-related charges in a Sydney court.
He today pleaded guilty to a charge of riot when he appeared in Sutherland Local Court.
Photographs tendered to the court showed Mr Coleman kicking Mr Merhi as he was pursued by an alcohol-fuelled mob during the riot.
In police facts tendered to the court, Mr Coleman said he was disgusted by his actions, that he was intoxicated at the time and "just got carried away with the crowd".
Defence lawyer Sam Macedone said Mr Coleman was a "keen surfer" who was studying for his commercial pilot's licence.
"He simply got carried away because of the alcohol and the crowd ... carried away by the hype of what was happening on that particular day," Mr Macedone told the court.
Bail was continued and Mr Coleman will be sentenced on April 21 for his part in the riot.
Mr Coleman was one several men who had their bail continued when they appeared in Sutherland Court in relation to the December riot and revenge attacks.
So would it be fair to assume that this guy was not planning on a career with EK?

Sounds like Mr Coleman was just following the same practice the Government has been following with their 'security policy'. AVID's this week, ASIC's the next, C150's a threat, nail clippers are a no no on RPT yet we all carry a pen

Poor Mr Colemen is just as confused as the Government
