Places to learn other than Archerfield

Hi All,

I'm looking to learn to fly, is there anywhere other than Archerfield in Brisbane to learn to fly.

G'day mate,

If you're looking for a good place to learn to fly, both the Darling Downs Aero Club, and Aerotec Flight Training based in Toowoomba are the 2 best schools in SE Queensland.

Darling Downs Aero Club does GFPT through to CPL and Instructor Ratings. They fly Pa-38 Tomahawks, Pa-28 Warriors, C-172, and C-182RG. www.DDAC.com.au

Aerotec Flight Training does all their training in a CT-4E, from GFPT through to CPL. Their CT-4E is the only one in the country and more advanced than what the Airforce use. www.Aerotec.com.au

Both flying schools put out a very good standard at all levels. It's a bit of a drive, but well worth it. About a third of their students are from Brisbane. Good luck, and make sure you do your research first.

Also consider Redcliffe Aeroclub (did PPL & CPL there) or Avalon Flying School at Caboolture (did PIFR & CIR there). Have also done stuff at DDAC & they are quite good.

PM me for further info if you wish.

If you're willing to drive as far as Toowoomba, then Caloundra isn't too far away to go to find Chopperline/Coastline.
