alllllrighttttteeee then, my turn,

First of all, even if this is a wind up, the QF Cadets or future wanna be cadets reading this can at least take away some thing from this.

Lesson 1. Dont be a F*ck Head like this coksmoka.

Lesson 2. Apprecite where you are and what you are doing, cause you never know what is waiting or going to happen in the future.

Lesson 3. Never forget where you came from, as one day u may be bitching about something really gay sitting up pretty in ya jet and its times like these that u need to remember that u have mates who never got into the heavy jets and would love to be where you are.

Here endeth the lessons, for now.

Now, Coksmoka, time for your spray.

Here is what u need to do, to learn to appreciate the adventure you are about to embark on.

After u have been in YPDN (thats Darwin u cok) for a while, head to the bar on a Friday night with the rest of the pilots. Have a few beers, then bring up how u hate Darwin and being on the Braz.

What will happen next may surprise you, but i will give u a hint as to what may (ie. will) occur.

The group of pilots will go quiet. Put there beers down, look at you in a weird way. one will probably say "Pardon me? What did u say?" Next thing as u say "I hate being here in Dar.."

SMACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

U will feel maybe the first few punches, but as soon as the pint glasses start raining down, most likely u will pass out.

The best thing will be, after some one has p*ssed on you, is that the beers will flow again and life will be much sweeter with out you.

But my most favourite thing to come out of this is that a spot will be open on the Braz for someone who had done the hard yards to get there.

You are a tosser.

This is highly amusing. Even Keg replied. You've done well Fingers.

I enjoy the odd wind-up but have not wound up the masses as well as this for quite some time.

Please PM me so we can laugh about it in private.

By the way, despite this being a wind-up, I hardly think
You've embarrassed Qantas
You've embarrassed every (most) QF cadet's
is accurate. Most normal people don't come to pprune looking for the Real Word on flying and life in general. I don't think he even embarrassed himself but he DID embarrass all you guys who've fallen over each other in your outrage.

Irrespective of whether it's a wind up or not, it has done damage to the reputation of QC. can u imagine going out on the darwin scence and announcing that yr a cadet. better off saying that u are looking for a job or that you are an apprentice plumber. not good

No it hasn't. No more than when some tosser of an old fart ex-cadet QF captain starts moaning on the tower freq about someone else being lined up ahead of him or his eggs not being done just right...... oh wait.... doh!

Anyway what are Darwhine GA drivers doing on pprune to see the supposed "damage to QC reputation"??? In my day we couldn't even afford a pager, now these fcuks have got PCs, net access, spare time... what next??

Jebus you guys got it good these days.

Just because some people haven't had the best run carreer wise doesn't mean that the next driver has to do it tough as well.

FFS what does a CPL cost these days anyhow?? 50k - 60k??
Big investment.
Ok Cadetship is 88k? for what? a better than average chance of getting into Qantarse. Makes sence to me.

I'd choose Jetstar asia over Airnorth anyday. Any idiot would. So I dont see anything wrong with what Fingerscalk said.

And for those who think it's disrespectful to the punters in GA or Airnorth get a life and grow up. You failed, missed out, missed the boat, etc....etc... deal with it enjoy your job or get out.

Some people on here are so bitter and twisted it worries me that they are allowed to operate aircraft of any level.

p.s the best flying you'll ever do will be in GA. If the money was there we would all go back.

'wonderdog,

you are correct in saying that not everyone has an easy run. iam sure most people dont. having said that, it is even more important for those people who have a good run to realise the fortunes they have.

You say spending $88k for a better shot at flying for QF is a good idea. Maybe, but who the hell has that kinda $$ when they are 18??

The rumor mill is now running wild with alot of mates who are S/o's at QF starting to get p*ssed off at these little fuking cadet cok's who now by the grace of god get given a "ghost seniority number" while they are on industry placement for 2 years.

BIGGEST LOAD OF FUKING ****E EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These little fukers now get a top turboprop job for 2 years, all paid for by QF and whilst they are there complaining about how they have to "do time on a braz in Darwin or Dash8 in perth" they are all the time moving up the seniroty list in QF. I guess if all they have done is suck on mumy's tit then YPDN would be a little scary.......Then these cok smokers stroll into the Rat thinking they are the best thing since sliced bread, jump the que and sit pretty at the top, pulling their little weiners.

Reckon the reception will be warm. ******* doubtful. Can imagine a few peoples responses to these little ****es. "Oh you are one of the newbies are u" "Yes i did it hard in GA for 2 years on a Braz and now iam at the top of the list" "You scabby little kunt!!"

Wind up or not, Fingerscalk you're a moron!

I've got about a dozen mates up north between Darwin, Kunners and Broome who would love a gig with Air North and do the "hard yards".

For most of us who go up, Air North is at best our second flying job. You've been given a gig with Air North after which you're on QF mainline....and you're whinging that you want Jetstar.

Seriously...wake the up.

I've got nothing against QF cadets who've got the $$ and the "right stuff" to get through. One of my best mates was a cadet, and he worked his ass off to get in, get thru and he didn't complain about having to leave Sydney and do those hard yards.

It's cadets like you, that give cadets like him a bad reputation amongst the rest of GA!

Ya stupid

Don't forget ol' Johnn0 who tried to use the longreach as his personal golf cart in bangers!!! Woops, RH seat 4U!! he too was a 'cadet'.

Then there's the mystery "767 heading into PER one night, PER had fog, learmonth not in range, so the Skipper (ex Cadet OH NO ) says can't land so we'll ditch tha kunt, until AN 762 Check & Training invited himself onto the flight deck and said 'move over boys, fly it through the minima on the ILS' haha what crok of roo ****e!!!

Lack of? Or just bad luck?

you still have to pass the QANTarse recruiting procedure

you still pay for your training. Mind you pay a bit more than the average CPL but you get a job at the end, plus more specialised training. Smart I would say.

Not all Cadets have rich parents and in-fact I know of some whose parents have Mortgaged their house.

Don’t Blame the Cadets, Blame QANTAS for allowing this to happen. Blame Airnorth, Skippers, pearl……. for Taking the Cadets, creating the resentment that the Cadets get when they take the jobs that the GA drivers aspire too.

Almost every other Airline in the World has a cadet program.

We all end up at the same place oneday anyway....old and retired.

Who cares how you get to that airline job, as long as you hold onto your owns beliefs and dont lower your standard (honesty integrity and decency are mine) then its all good and you will get there if you believe in yourself (thats what im hoping anyway).

I am often slightly peeved with the silverspoon crew, but at the end of the day i am proud i have payed my own way through training, resulting in all sorts of finacial dificulty and countless other hardship, but im still here and im still saying bring it on and im still working on my skill, and will continue to do so.

boeingwest - not quite - it was a classic jumbo, for that incident, it was a QF senior check on board not ansett., the other incident was the captain you refer to - which was in a 767, but a different senario- on his final command check- he passed - his decisions on that day given his information appear to be sound.

Ah, never let the truth get in the way of a wild yarn.

A QF classic was inbound to Perth from internaional when PH went unforecast fog. They diverted to Learmonth which went low cloud as they were on descent. The trainee skipper on his final command check (current 744 fleet manager?) decided after shooting an approach (non precision) or two and missing out, that letting down over water and coming back in that way would get the optimal result. Hatton-Ward was the SCC and he's LONG retired- his son Guy goes to my church.

Unfortunately, it often gets dressed up as a crew preparing to ditch! What a crock indeed!

Dear Qantas Cadet Pilots of the future.
Especially the ones sitting sipping lattes in the leafy north shore of Sydney etc. Leaving Sydney is a good thing. It will still be there when you get back. I was raised in the ghettos of Sydneys eastern suburbs and my GA career has taken me to the bright lights of messemate way, places such as "the Tav" , been forcefully removed in the Rowie in broome and sucked back cold ones in Rorkes and discovery in Darwin. And guess what after 2 years when I came back, the Icebergs were still there (renovated), (deleted). My point is, Sydney is going no where, so don’t worry, two years in Darwin and you'll come back to your leafy pad in Turramurra, Gordon etc and mummy will be there to do your washing etc. Your same mates from school will still be there.

While you are in Darwin remember, go out and have the best time you can have, meet the other pilots slogging it out in the communities. They will be the best blokes to party with in town cause they appreciate being back in Darwin for maybe just one night for the entire month. eg noodle a few years back who was unleashed on Darwin once a month from the bright lights of Ngukr (cant even spell the place).
These guys/girls are flying C210s and C206s and they are extremely lucky to have these jobs. They are looking forward to getting on a clapped out Navajo or C310 in 2 years time then maybe with a strike of luck get picked up by a regional like Airnorth or Pearl etc. So show respect to these people by not rubbing their faces in it by out rite self promotion and bragging cause one day down the track you may just be sharing an overnight with them in some foreign port for QF and people do have looooong memories.

As far as starting on a regional, wow what an opportunity. Enjoy it. It took me 4 and half years in GA and now I've only just got on a Metro and I'm so stoked to have gotten this opportunity. Again away from the ghettos of Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Congrats for making the grade so far to get into the cadetship, now you have to make the grade as a good pilot and most importantly a good bloke in the industry, which will be much harder

Drshmoo

Dr Schmoo, hopefull the phrase I deleted was used without malice, given the racial turmoil in SYD currently.
