Remember the NZ PM Helen Clarke's 737 getting blocked in the gate at Sydney by ground service equipment and then the keys went missing for same equipment.

Truly memorable!

Legal

That wind up post is decidedly setting in concrete what most of the general public consider as the place occupied in the mix of things by the legal profession.
Gene pool - shallow end.

May I suggest you open an new site called PCRuNe.

No prize for what the C stands for.

Ansett staff had integrity. Try some.

Should be fun for you and Mr Hand.

The new carrier will be formed by merging existing small carriers and the purchase of five 50-seat Fokker Friendships.
We are talking of a business man in townsville, apparently acquiring 5 small RPT and charter operations, and using F50's to go head to head with Sunnies and the MacPac.
So which is it??

F50's and Friendships are completely different.

Maybe he's worked out that the company would be eligible for the Ansett ticket tax payout by some legislative loophole. You remember the tax? The one put in place to pay out entitlements that no one else is eligible for.

At the risk of bringing this thread back on topic

Townsville Bulletin article on 1oth August reports 12 50 seat aircraft for Ansett. Also reports that negotiations with a fourth RPT AOC holder were nearing completion and that operator allows the airline to start off with a bigger operation. Not too many high capacity AOC's around North QLD so reduces the guesswork. That is if any of this is not just pie in the sky.

"The fact remains that Air New Zealand bled Ansett's profits and loaded their debts"

Hempy, please explain further?

Thumbs down .......Getting tired of Ansett name ?

Not sure what this guy is doing but I am getting tired of hearing about people "restarting Ansett". The brand has no value from a marketing perspective and this mob are not doing anyone a favour flying it. Time to bury it I think. If I were Mr B' I would put his name on the planes because that has far more meaning in aviation history.

Just a question legal... Obviously the Law industry doesn't have enough work to keep you from surfing the Airline site like this.
Maybe you are a wannabe .. and never quite made it!!!
Seems that for someone supposedly "intelligent" as yourself you don't have much else to be doing with your time. Why aren't you surfing the property sites to increase that HUGE portfolio of yours.
Time for you to get a life and stop bagging out a company that you know nothing about.
Me for one LOVED working with AN and the staff there as they certainly had a lot more compassion and diplomacy than you.
As for a place in history ...don't get me started.
Best leave this topic for those that actually know what they are talking about.

Loved Working For Ansett

Well maybe that's just it, you loved working for Ansett but what part was that? The billboard or the airline?
