Is Origin Pacific alive??

Does anyone know if Origin is going to interview / recruit pilots this year or have they run out of steam? Just curious i'm wanting a start flying something other than a piston, I dont really know their current situation, except for what i've read. I have 1400hrs and 110 hrs plus multi. Can anyone give me info on this????

Hey darylw,

As flying ginge has mentioned, there are still a considerable number of people from the last ground course (most of whom have in excess of 2,000hrs TT and 750 multi) waiting on the call up - should happen pretty soon if the rumours about AirNZ are correct.

Further to the rumour spreading, word has it that due to everyone moving on so quickly, The Powers that Be at Origin have decided to take on lower hour (500ish) and/or older pilots so that the stick around for a long time/the rest of their flying life.

Seems the only way they can hang on to the boys and girls is if the get people that no-one else is going to want.

Anyway,
Good luck.

Last count there were 12 guys waiting to go from OPAL. I am picking that this will occur in the not too distant future if the rumours are true. The MFO will have a task on his hands then, no more fudging the crew numbers aye.
