Err..pardon me for being dense, but isn't the airport responsible for security? Shouldn't the Sydney Airport Corp foot part of the bill from it's bulging coffers?

Well folks, the ongoing security regime will IMHO cripple our industry in time to come.

In reality we get naff all from these new arrangements except a huge bill, passed onto the pax, and frustration passed onto everybody. Come the next economic downturn, aviation will be harder hit than normal due to the onerous costs added to it, just so the government can seem to be doing something, to keep us all scared, and under their control.
