What do I put my licence in?
I have a shiny new photo student pilots licence, that also includes a bunch of fragile bits of paper. And the medical certificate. What do others keep all this ****e in?

I kept mine in my wallet until it deteriorated
You can buy a little folder (that won't fit in a shirt pocket) to store them in - I eventually did this.
I still have my CAA credit card licence in my wallet too. There's no expiry date on this so it must be still legal

Credit card type license
Obiwan,
I still have my credit card type license as well. Was just thinking if it was still valid ever since they started giving us this paper license.
Spodman,
I keep my paper license and medical cert and other documents in an A4 sheet plastic protector and lives permanently in my nav suitcase/bag since I take my bag with me on every flight.

One of those plastic sleeves for ring binders. A5 size works a treat! Those green casa licence holders are useless.... Pages stick together like an old porn mag and the print of your licence comes off as well.

If you go to Copyworks and ask for an A7 size document protector and holder, about $14 from memory, then remove the outer covering very carefully with a scalpel blade, you will find that hidden beneath is a secondary pocket and you will be able to slide your favourite topgun picture in. Your licence should still fit on the front.
It looks great, my friend has a cool pic of Maverick in his Raybans on his licence cover. I told him it looked gay but he said Nah.
Mine has a picture of a Tomcat firing off a rocket and at night when Im alone, I pretend Im a Tomcat and fire off a rocket too!

A nice little earner indeed.
Don't forget the $20 next year when you have to buy another one.
All the writing sticks to the plastic sleeves leaving it impossible to read the next medical/ renewal you get because you have last years writing stuck to it.
Piece of sh!t.

You need a New Guinea Penis Sheath. It will easily carry all documents, and make a great talking point when the CASA inspector comes-a-knockin!
Spend the bit extra and get the CASA one. The one from the Pilot's Shop sticks to the lettering on the bits of paper, giving u a nice duplicate of your licence on the plastic. I found the CASA one doesn't do it.
Oh, and keep it in your headset bag. If you're going flying, you're gonna need your headset right?

I've had so such luck with the CASA ones ... I think one page says I have about 3 cpl's...
It was getting out of hand .. way to fix .. remove licence from porn mag style plastic sleeve ... arm yourself with a cotton bud dipped in turps or metho ... hold your breathe and begin to rub inside .. the old licence / medical ink comes off quite easily and leaves a nice aroma from CASA when they inspect your licence the next time ...
Dont forget to get your pretty picture before the $200 fee!.

The Answer
Guys/Girls:
The answer is to laminate your licence (some of the pages don't change year after year) BEFORE you put your licence into the green holder.
A bit of an inconvenience I know, particularly the first time you do it, but at least it makes for easy removal and insertion of only the changed pages in the future.
