Safey Briefings

I have travelled a little bit here and there.

Today was the first time I have been onboard, doors shut, safety brief complete when things went to mush.

After the technical problem became a little more terminal we were deplaned, herded into the transit lounge, and eventually shuffled onto another acft.

The 2nd acft. was a smaller and differently configured version of the original acft at the 'bridge.

The door shut and we had pushed back, when the CM noticed a pax missing .. went on a search and found him/her, ushered him/her back to the seat, next thing .. over the cabin PA, crew please be seated.

My question is this:

Given the different configuration (1 midships exit on acft 2 when there were 2 on acft 1) etc. etc. is it satisfactory for a flight to TKOF without another safety briefing?

My understanding is that It is a requirement to have another briefing.....

I have been on QF, pushed back, been briefed, something broke, returned to gate, repaired, same aircraft and briefed again.....

Definitely not satisfactory.

It seems most likely that it was a crew error rather than company procedure.
