Geez
During my lessons about 40 years ago the instructor said Pitch BECOMMING FINE, not bang there she is mate!!
Agree with most posts why piss off the ground dwellers when it is not needed, yeah the old one about the field was here first?
why would you keep bringing it up as that one is old as the field and I think we lost that argument.
Does it gall you to take a bit of care not to upset land lubbers or what?

Signs like "NO CIRCUITS" or "YES MUSEUM. NO AIRCRAFT", etc. (I'm not sure if it's there still, but there was a rooftop sign that said "F**K OFF AIRCRAFT")

Hey Guys
It's about time to stop referring to that RPM control lever as a pitch control.
Roll on FADEC.
If you think to some depth about your RPM governor you will know that your prop/s will already be at FULL fine pitch on short final, wherever your RPM lever is set, trying to bring your RPM up to that which is selected.
So - on a go round - you get a spin up to selected RPM with the prop/s at full fine pitch - then a little overspeed of the setting until the governor reduces RPM back to setting.
So why not go to max RPM selection on very short final.
As an accomplished multifunction switch flicker/lever adjuster I prefer to nurse my engines and get the props doing their thing sooner on a go round by a combined increases of boost and RPM adjustments thus avoiding that little bit of damaging overspeed.

FLM. No contest - the Gloster Meteor at low level with its "Blue" note caused by the wind in the gun barrels I believe. Second: A departing B727 with JT8D-17 at 2.18 EPR. A real shiver me timbers sound. Horses for courses of course. Some purists like the DH82 ticking away in a glide approach on a still cold day.
