Don't know about the best but I bought mine directly from Bose Australia , Robert Elber is the man to speak with re aviation headsets.
Great headset. Light, comfortable and the ENC is awesome!
I get about 100 hrs from AA alkaline batteries and just yesterday started trying rechargables. 21 Days trial of the headset was available when I bought last year and probably still is. Mine were shipped the day I paid for them.
EDIT: BTW paid $1499.

Bose X
was just checking them out on the Sporties web site, 950 US or so. With the Aus dollar on the rise might be an option? www.sportys.com

Got my Bose X out in Vancouver Canada and claimed the GST back.
It's got the two AA batteries in it and I use 2300mAh rechargeables and they're lasting just over 50hrs.
I love it more than my ex wife...
