Sydney International customs

Hey guys,

I'm looking at taking a trip to mebourne via sydney from canberra soon and I'm looking at two flights leaving same time, one in the 763 and one in a 744. I wouldn't mind stopping in at the international terminal and having a look round because I haven't left Oz through kingsford smith before but I'm not sure how long it usually takes to get through customs/security etc.

There's 2.5 hours between flights and I know you can't put a definitive 'this is how long it will take' but do you think I'll be able to get through customs, have a look round and grab a drink or something in that time?

Sorry to post such a trivial question but I'm just weighing up the options for the trip, Any input's appreciated.

I think you get a big D stuck on your boarding pass so you get waved through customs (or designated queue) ?
