Metros

Rumour has it that ReX are ditching their Metros for an entire fleet of SAABs. Crew will be stepped up onto the SAAB. Can anyone confirm or deny

This rumour has been floating for a while now, it is possible another Saab for adelaide due to the cbr withdrawl but management keep insisting the 19 seater routes would be uneconomical for the Saab and thus no great chnge in the near future (im sure the Metro crews wish this is not the case) how reliable is your source

Plenty of rumours and corporate management bonuses flying round the Rex camp at the moment. Bean counting seems to be the order of the day rather than aviation. The company is too busy trying to save a dollar rather than make a dollar, the only thing shiny and new on the ramp at gate 39 will be DJ's 737s.

Rumour: Metros going, B1900Ds coming

Reality: Metros make money and will be around for the foreseable future. Several new routes on the cards though [ex Horizon ports].

Rumour: EMB170s

Reality: Mmmmm where did we put the hundreds of millions of dollars?

Rumour: Brisbane based Saabs

Reality: Nothing comfirmed, just the usual rumours. Hardly likely, no APU, no point

Hopefully my cynicism is unfounded and this year is one of solid consolidation if not growth.

Yes they may be bean counting and making big savings apparantly with the change in catering from alpha to inflight, but their recruitment has been full on for the past few months, which makes me think something is going on. Ground schools have been one after another for F/O's and F/A's and no sign of slowing down either. Yes CBR is gone but ARM added and supposedly West Wyalong? coming soon.
BNE rumour is getting stronger lately, so lets hope all goes well.
