Bankstown Tower ATC Reunion
A few of us ex ATCs at Bankstown have decided that the time is right for a reunion for all ex Bankstown ATCs and PILOTS - yes, you lot wot cause us so much bother all the time!
So, how about it?
Where? Obviously near Sydney.
When? Why not this year sometime.
Who? All former/current ATCs and pilots who flew/fly at Bankstown.
All we need is someone to organise it!
AUSATCO, come on down!!
WOOMERA: Could you keep this as a "sticky", mate?

Used to work out of there (Blankstown not the phone box) for a couple of years back in the dark ages when there were Aircraft everywhere. The folks in the tower were the most courteous and helpfull I've come across. Big response on the BK doo, maybe nobody want's to remember to good times?

Hey Zarg, your absence from the 2004 Brisvegas bash was duly noted. Maybe the lack of response here is retribution? 
But seriously mate, I'll try to be there, for the sake of many hours and indeed years there during my career. No, not in the Tower, or in the said mail box!
Don't know if I'll be able to get the time off for it but if a date is decided on, please lt me know.
I suspect that the lack of response is more indicative of a reluctance to emerge from anonymity than anything else. I think you've come up with a good idea, not least because I have always found the BK ATCOs to be very good and, mostly, very helpful. I think that folks will come to the reunion if you come up with a date, but don't expect too many of them to be wearing any PPRuNe ID.
If there's still any of the former BK FOIs around, I'd like to catch up with them too. We had our share of confrontations of course, but never with any personal animosity. Well, maybe once or twice...

Yair, sorry I missed the Brisvegas Bash but it coincided with my Coast Guard duty day!
Love to see pilots, FOIs and ATCs at a reunion so I will try to keep this at the top until the SOBs wake up!

Dunno if I'm up for it, mate. Lots on at the mo, and as far as organising, more into small personal things than the big bashs, though Mrs AA is the better at that.
Would definitely be there, though, if it were to happen.

Did a few runs out of BK in years gonme by, and would be great to meet some of the friendly voices. Set a date and I shall RSVP for ya!
Doesn't need to be flash, maybe just in the AEROLINK hangar ? The flying school that is in there at the moment seems to be fairly sociable, maybe they would be keen to host it ?

Woomera: Thanks, mate! Will have to check the calender and talk to some people but howsabout making it one weekend in September?
Open to suggestions for the venue, chief wiggum's is a good start as on site would be best, any other suggestions?

I flew out of Bk from SPL to CPL but couldnt say I've met a lot of the ATC chaps. Been to the tower only once way back SPL days. Didnt want to be a pest since you guys are always busy
But would like to be included if I may.
Was just wondering if the lady ATCO who got crossed with me 8 years ago in my SPL days would be there ???........
