Queenstown approach/departure

Hi folks,
I was driving out of Queenstown a few days ago and looked down (yes down) on 737 on approach. The track looked somewhat "interesting". Would any of you people care to give me a description. My flying is normally UK with a few sectors into Europe occasionally so really quite uneventful. I left NZ from CHC so that was also un spectacular.

All New Zealand's plates are available at www.aip.net.nz

Queenstown has three circling VOR approaches and two circling GPS approaches. There are numerous departure procedures providing for different climb performance but all require some sort of visual manoeuvring.
