What Endorsement would YOU pay for?
This is purely hypothetical question. If I had a rich daddy or had the cash to pay for a jet aircraft endorsement (which I unfortunately do not have), which A/C type would be the best endorsement? What A/C would give the best chance to walk into a job in the Asia/Pacific area with Australian ATPL, with the following hours?
Current experience over 4000 hour’s, 2500 twin, 1000 turbine. RPT regional airline experience.
And a bare endorsement on one of the following.
A320
A330
737
747
A300
767
Etc
I occasionally see these jobs advertised in various www.jobs sites.
Just interested. It aint gunna happen, but hey I might win lotto.

It would have to be, A-320, 737, or one you have missed on your list, the 717.
Especially if you wanna work in Oz.
Cheers, HH.

Pay to Work
It seems standard practice these days, don't the not so Virgins pay for their endorsments? Soon Airline fellows will be paying for the first 3 years employment the way GA instructors and Charter pilots do! I spose for the "ultimate" job it might be worth it........... not so big bucks, 55 hours duty time a week, having to clean the toilets, spending 4 days a week away from home and having to put up with those common people you have to cart around.
737 or A320 (more towards A 320) from the types on your list, as these are entry level airline jets on which new F/O s would commonly start. Also these are used by low cost carriers who expect you to pay for your own rating.
With no airline jet time it would be virtually impossible to go straight into the right seat on an A330 or B777/747 as airlines operating these types can take pilots from lesser types in their fleet, rated and EXPERIENCED pilots from else where, or non rated heavy jet pilots for conversion training and bonding.
Other types only for definate job offer subject to obtaining rating.
Remember a type rating is perishable if not used especially with no time on type. A rating done 5 years ago on a type you haven't flown since will be virtually worthless

Surely a Space Shuttle Endorsement is the only one that any righteous pilot could live with paying for and is the only one that every other righteous pilot would understand why that righteous pilot wanted to pay for it!
