PNG Flight Crew Exams
There's a notice on the new (under construction) PNG CAA website, detailing changed arrangements for the conduct of flight crew licence exams. As you'll see, these arrangements are tmporary. The link to the PDF file is the notice in PDF format.

Yes, well that's all fine Ozmate, but I wonder if the procedure will have changed since I did my PNG Air Leg. exam back in early 1990.
T'was a 3hr exam if what's left of the grey matter tells me correctly. However I was booked in to start the exam at 3pm!
At precisely 4.59pm the supervising officer says.............
"Time is up!!!"
Luckily it only took me 1.75 hrs to complete!
And I passed!

Consider yourself lucky Pinky, that the envigilator was kind enough to stay back beyond 16:06 to supervise your exam. If he hadn't been so considerate, you wouldn't have been allowed to attempt the exam at all. I'm guessing that he was trying to do the right thing for you - even if someone had goofed with the booking, there was no obligation on the envigilator to allow the exam to proceed.
There used to be instances, once in a while, where exam candidates would be allowed to sit an exam when there was less than the normal time available for it. This was invariably the result of an agreement by the candidate that he/she would be able to complete the said exam in that lesser amount of time. As a matter of interest, I did the very same exam back in 1984 and only needed an hour.
air med... curiously, the only complaints about that sort of thing have ALL been made anonymously. Most often, in the pages of PPRuNe rather through the appropriate channels. Thus there was nothing that could be investigated.
However, you will undoubtedly be pleased to know that this episode of ancient history was terminated quite some time ago when the suspect was fired. This was the result of other activities that COULD be readily investigated. But thank you for dredging this issue up again, still anonymously and STILL without any details that can be acted on.

So the big H got caught out eh? A real 
for the new guys going up there - he was certainly an asset when it came to exam time 
I guess he must have asked the wrong person for 50 kina to 'get them their maps' (which of course never materialised...)
As for it all being anonymous & needing to be investigated - that was the least of the dodgy's going on involving DCA during my time...

OK lads, nuff said of the invigilators but I can't even guess who of the 2 gents was taking your K50. Did mine in 1997 which took 1 hr and passed after I argued 2 answers of mine were correct. Gave me the extra marks after verification with the flight safety guys (aircrew examiners). No bribery, just correct answers and proud to be an honest PNGan.
