ANZ vs QANTAS

Can anyone shed any light on the min hours generally acceptable to both Air NZ and QANTAS? For instance if I had 1800 hours, of which over 1500 were wide body jet time would this put me in a reasonable position? I understand that it's not as many hours as some applicants may have, however I am wondering if the fact that they are big jet global ops blah blah may counter this?

Cheers

I think the main question would be how the hell you got into wide bodys with only 300 hours to start with!!

In the UK it's not uncommon. Especially during the big boom from 1998-2000. I know of a couple of guys who've gone from flight training to 737s or 757s. They weren't on any cadet scheme either.

flyboy,
What you'd need to check is how your hours are broken down and do they fit what Qantas and Air NZ want. If they do and you can get the appropriate visa/residency plus convert your licence to an Australian or New Zealand one then I can't see why they would knock you back for an interview.
