The elusive AIP Supplement

I was catching up on some amendments this arvo (exciting lifestyle, eh?) and was a bit perturbed about the ridiculously large number of AIP supps that were listed in the summary as only being available on the Airservices website or as an AVFAX product.
Maybe this is some kind of paper saving exercise prior to the Nov 25 change of format, but it seems a bit over the top that hardly any of these so-called important changes to the published AIP info are not being sent out as a matter of course like they used to be.
Extending this concept, why don't they just issue one AIP supp that says "For all AIP supplements, get on the Airservices site and get them yourselves, we're all off to the pub!"
So what's it all about then?

Well let's have a look at some of the topics contained in these AIP SUPs that are only available via the website or AVFAX...

Differences from ICAO SARPS

Sydney - SW Sector trunk Drainage

Changes to Darwin CTA

Darwin Traffic Management Plan

ADS-B Trial Bundaberg

Sydney - Guard Light Project

Melbourne - Northern Apron Works

Broome NDB & DME Relocation

Gold Coast INDI 300 Motor Race

Bathurst Motor Races

hardly the sort of topics that need a piece of paper sent to every pilot who is getting documents from AsA. The less I get the better. Some of that stuff is really in the realm of Notam material.

True, some of it is, but the applicability of some isn't obvious from the title (eg "Military Exercise Wallaby 2004" doesn't tell you much).
