Talking Oz ATPL to FAA ATP

I am sure it has been asked before and I have done the relevant searches, but what I would like to find out is some personal experiences from people who have done the conversion from an Australian ATPL to the FAA equivalent.

I think I have come to grips with what is required to actually carry out the conversion but I am wondering if anyone has some first hand experience on where they did the conversion, how long it took, costs, difficulty of the flight test etc etc.

Any help offered would be much appreciated.

Cheers
