Easyjet Questions

Have any D&G readers had experience using Easyjet in the UK and Europe?

Those I've asked have had mixed replies.

Some say it all went smoothly if you turn up well in advance at the airport.

Another says they run late a lot and sometimes cancel unexpectedly and leave you hanging out to dry.

Any first hand opinions would be appreciated. Some of the fares seem to be too good to be true ,when you work on the theory that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I might get a chance to use them in a few months time.

easyJet passenger statistics (easyJet data)

easyJet punctuality (easyJet data)

All airlines punctuality – top 75 destinations (UK CAA data)

All airlines punctuality – press release (UK CAA data)

What you wont get on easyJet :
  • a free lunch
  • a free newspaper
  • use of a business lounge at the airport
  • interline baggage transfer
  • check in at STD -10
If you book well in advance the prices are excellent. If you book on or close to the date of travel then the prices are higher. Pricing is driven by demand. Try experimenting with different travel dates and times and you’ll soon get the idea.

Hi MoFo,

I fly them several times a month and they seem to be OK. Nothing lush and the legroom's pretty poor if you are anything over 6' but is "does what it says on the can". Take a paked lunch with you (which would be better than airline food anyway) and you'll be OK for 2 hours. At least they go to the airport named rather than to one 50km away. Just watch out for the "extras", airport tax, booking with a credit card, etc. Take the Full Price into account.

Would suggest that you try some of the cheap internet bookings like lastminute.co.uk of cheaptickets.co.uk or something like that as I tend to find that I can get eqaually as good a deal with BA, bmi, SwissAir or other "full-service" carriers for a similar price...or less...than with the Lo-Co airlines (a feat of modern marketing). The food that you do get isn't great but you do get a bit more legroom.

Good Luck
