EAA Testing/Interview
Can someone please point me in the direction of any recent posts recent the EAA interview process, or advise on same?
Invite to be scrutinized mid-August. Some have done Q testing and had results examined by EAA (i've not done Q stuff at all), others have had testing - interview pending results...
Sim check? 747 was mentioned?!?
Any help/advice appreciated..

Eastern Fact File
Eastern Australia Airlines (QantasLink) is a wholly owned Qantas Regional Airline that provides air-services to an extensive network of cities and towns in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and the ACT. Eastern Australia Airlines offers regional services from Sydney and Melbourne flying up to twenty major destinations and carries approximately 950,000 passengers annually, with excellent connections to Qantas International and Domestic Flights provided to customers.
Eastern currently employs approximately 190 Flight Crew across the Sydney, Melbourne and Mildura bases.
Fleet
Eastern Australia Airlines operates the following aircraft type:
13 x DHC 8 100 series
3 x DHC 8 200 series
5 x DHC 8 300 series
Crew Base
Our Flight Crew are either based in Sydney, Melbourne or Mildura. You may be required to overnight at other ports due to rostering requirements.
Destinations
The regional town and cities that Eastern Australia Airlines provide air-services to, include Albury-Wondonga, Armidale, Ballina, Canberra, Coffs Harbour, Dubbo, Grafton, Lord Howe Island, Moree, Mt Hotham, Narrabri, Newcastle, Port Macquarie, Melbourne, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga, Mildura, Burnie and Devonport.
Employees
Eastern Australia currently employ in excess of 650 full time staff throughout our route network.

I was really after some interview 'guidance' and the process currently used by EAA.
Rumour has it that when they have needed drivers in a hurry in the past, they have shortcut the process and gone straight to interview/sim.
There been a number of sims used too. Seems people are getting the Classic in recent times..rather than the older link-style unit used 12-18mths ago.
From all accounts, normally its QF-style round 1 testing

I believe after the QF Psych and skills testing, the next round these days is sim ride in the 767-200 and interview all done at the jet base in Sydney.

The recruitment process has been "commonalised" over the past 12 months or so with that of QF.
1. There are no "short cuts" per se, however if you've satisfactorily completed a QF S&P and it is current, then you may not have to repeat ($$$). The same may apply for the sim ride. Grrowler might attest to this.
If you have not done a S&P, you will need to do it as this is a mandatory step in the overall process. Without this you cannot progress to the sim ride.
2. Sim ride is now conducted in B767. It was moved from the 747 recently, as the 747 will soon be unavailable. Completion standard required is the same for both QF and EAA. Briefing about 30-40 mins, Simex about 50-55. No tricks or traps.
3. Interview is a combination of behavioural and tech and usually two interviewers: 1 (non flying) manager and 1 (flying) manager or senior pilot. Contrary to the common belief of some contributors on pprune, what you see is what you get with the interview panel. Once again, no tricks or traps. Be yourself.
By the way, rote-learned answers that you get from books/"interview preparation courses" can be spotted a mile away
and won't help your cause....

Nice work with the EAA Fact File, just a quick update on Fleet details. There are 12x100series, 3x200series and 7x300series. The latest TQL(300series) entered service yesterday and TQM due into service around mid August.

Have a buddy doing this process at the moment.

* Interview with Sunstate
It seems like a catch 22 for him though.
Pass it all get offered a start with either SS or EAA (or both)
plus the S&P +Sim ride count for mainline selection process OR fail the S&P and forget about QF group as a career choice
Got to be in it to win it, I suppose

If your "buddy" applied to Sunstate, then he will do all the steps you described.
He will not, however be offered a position at EAA, particularly if he has attended SY on behalf of the Sunstate recruiting process. That would be very bad Karma on Eastern's part.
On the other hand, in the future he would apply to "Qantaslink" and be offered a basing at wherever it is available within the group.
