Despite what is posted earlier on this thread, this is an email to and from PPRuNe HQ and "Lame", unedited in any way.

I doubt if it will remain here for long though, because although "Lame" would like people to know the truth, some people will be very keen to censor the truth.

(QUOTE)

Rob,

Well thank you at least for finally telling me.

Now if only you or someone there had told me this 3 years ago, all this would have been avoided.

I have NEVER until now been told why I was banned before, despite repeated requests.

When I was able to post again some time ago, and NOT knowing why I was banned because nobody there ever answered my emails asking why I was banned, I did post about memorabilia, YES.

After I read the rules on THAT particular Forum, it seemed okay within those guidelines for THAT Forum (and incidentally I still think it complies with those rules), but NOT for other Forums like Dunnunda, so YES I posted about Ebay in general and my things in particular, explaining that I could not see any problem, and remembering that I didn't even know why I was banned
earlier, as I am still SURE many on PPRuNe would like to know about these bargains.

That thread was there for (from memory) months and months but nobody complained or posted to it, or locked or deleted it, so I assumed that you agreed it WAS okay.

Then I get a PM from a BOAC a few days ago, explaining that he had to delete it on orders from above.

As I explained to him, I would have deleted it myself IF someone had asked, OR obviously I would never have posted it in the first place, if I had been given the courtesy of knowing why I was banned years ago.

While I would like to remain on PPRuNe, if this is your idea of a fair go, and the way to treat people, I am probably better off being away from it.

Best regards,

David.

Lame.

I recall seeing a post some time back on another forum - one for retired pilots, from memory - from lame wrt some postcards he was offering for Ebay auction. But that was it - no link. I did wonder about it, but then I read other posts where guys were offering their houses for swaps, or at greatly reduced rates for other pilots, and dismissed it.

You're a naughty boy lame - as the cops will tell you, ignorance of the Law is no excuse if you break it, however, PPT, I have met lame in the flesh, and spoken with him, and can honestly say that he wouldn't have done it intentionally, or for the purpose of free advertising, but rather to try to inform aviation afficionados of items of possible interest to them.

How about letting our "most banned poster ' back, after what you deem a suitable time in the cooler?

Thank you guys for your support.

However in your post Kaptin M, you say about ignorance of the law, and that is true.

But even here in Queensland, where there have been a few problems with the justice system over the years, IF they do throw you in the slammer, at least they tell you why, which gives you a chance to avoid that crime next time, after you have completed your sentence.

It is not really ignorance if people continually refuse to tell you what crime you have commited, while you are already locked up for it.

You have my sympathy lame. I incured the wrath of a camel in another area because I sought firstly clarification of what advertising was, and then secondly I had the temerity to seek consistency & continuity in the application of 'moderation' by the said moderator.

So, I had his dummy spat at me, then he prevented me from posting so I could not respond. Sure was a brilliant way to clear up any misconceptions or areas that lacked understanding. I was genuinely astonished at his petulance.

We all know PPRuNe is Danny's trainset and he is totally at liberty to do with it however & whatever he likes. I dare not suggest that there be some of that well know aviation practice of "Standardisation" be applied here. I wouldn't dream of making such a suggestion.

Again, LAME you have my sympathy, I know how frustrating they can be.

I have just been speaking to "Lame", and he thanks you all for your kind support, but he fears it will be in vain.

Quite ironic really, I am just watching on Sky News the live coverage of the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings, and they are all going on about how this was for the liberation of all of Europe from tyranny, and to allow the freedoms and justice we all enjoy in Europe today.

THEY obviously do not know about the lack of any justice even today in some parts of England.

Airsupport, old son, methinks if you're not very careful in your choice of words, you'll be going the way of your mate Lame!! For as much as I can sympathise with your problems, I really don't believe that accusing Danny and his Moderators of "tyrrany" is the ideal course to pursue - remember it's his ball-game, ergo his rules! Who ever said justice was available for all, anyway, it's available to all, in theory, if you can afford it!

Chin up, mate, remember, "Illegitimae non carborundum"!

Kind regards,

TNO,

Now you are doing it to me too, I didn't say that.

That line was what THEY were saying on TV, Prince Charles and others.

My line was just the last line, with the on the end.

My Grandfather fought and died in WW1, and my Father fought all through WW2 so we "should" be able to enjoy these freedoms.

On top of all this ridiculous business where I was banned and never given any reason, NOW I find out it was just for letting other PPRuNers know about my memorabilia, which incidentally other similar sites actually encourage, I just posted a thread before about Jetstar, everything in it I still believe to be true, and as always in my years here on PPRuNe, I was not abusing anyone or anything, yet it has been locked and I have been threatened, just for posting something that I believe is true?

I am no longer prepared to stay at such a site, so I just want to say goodbye to a lot of friends here, I will miss you.

Best regards,

airsupport and lame.

Gee, I hope it wasn't my "tongue in cheek" reply on the Jet* sticker thread?

Au revoir airsupport...enjoy the peace & quiet of...you know where!

No Buster, it was not your post.

I posted that thread because I honestly believed many PPRuNers would like to see that sticker, because of all the interest in Jetstar, one way or the other.

As I pointed out I didn't, and still don't yet, have a copy myself so it was NOT an advertisement.

Still someone had to post some silly remarks (after your remarks), some people just cannot help being nasty.

I will post it again here as I am sure some PPRuNers would still like to see it.

Anyone at Jetstar did you manage to get some, they would normally have been on board that first ferry flight.
