I didnt think they got that much? So is there any qantas first officers here that can proove this right or wrong?
Thanks a lot

www.wagenet.gov.au
Select Option 2
Type Qantas Shorthaul
Read one of the current ones
I am not in QF so have no precise idea of who earns what, suffice to say I seriously doubt your mates mate is on $400k, and yes my GUESS would be around 100G. If you wade through the agreements you will find a number of figures varying by about 30k.
Maybe one of the fearless steely eyed aviators from the esteemed paragon of aviation perfection.......
...can give you a more accurate idea.

It is all there on the website - includes EBA for long and short haul. Just modify your search and you will find the relevant documents.
I always find the fascination about what other people are paid somewhat interesting - particularly when it concerns professions that are perceived to be "glamorous" and/or "highly/over paid" by the general populace.
Nobody ever seems to be interested in the earnings of say a tradesperson - several of whom I know earn considerably more than the majority of QF F/O's and captains.
However think I think your friend's friend may perhaps have been suffering from alcohol-induced exaggeration in order to impress!!

GOH,
400k does sound rather excessive.
There would only be a handful here on that sort of money and we're talking very senior long haulers there.
Your average domestic (737) FO would be on somewhere around 120-140k.
It all depends on the bidding for flight patters (rostering) as they are only paid for stick time.
Its quite a complicated system for the uninitiated.

400K sounds very excessive for QF, but I heard the other day that Dragon Captains are on about that. Ofcourse the guy could have been joshing me, also heard Dragon F/Os are close to 200k.
Is that right?

At todays FX rates, a KA f/o should be netting around 200k, though this includes housing and yearly bonus.
400k for left seat, might be a bit of a stretch, but if you take net income, and work it backwards through the Aus. tax mincer, it is very likely they are earning the equivalent to 400k gross in Aus.
