employment statistics in oz?
Just a quick question if any one knows of the pilot employment statistics in Australia.....
i.e how many unemployed CPL holders or ATPL holders.
any official statistic web site?.
note: i have already tried the ABS ( Australian Bureau of Statistics) etc
SOME-ONE HAS TO KNOW!
any information appreciated.
Thank you in advance (if any one reply's)

Hi Masi
The term CPL holders out of work is a vague decription and I dare say will effect your results. The fact that someone has a CPL doesn't mean they are unemployed and looking for work in the industry.
I think the figures you seek are the amount of people with CPL's that are currently looking for flying work. The answer is sh*tloads

Masi ,
www.casa.gov.au will give you the answer to total cpl/atpl numbers in Australia, but as Ang737 said this won't indicate employment levels. Having said that I'll go out on a limb and say there may be quite few umemployed pilots looking for work.
Good luck 88B
