172 Hire - Sydney & Queensland

Looking to taking some friends up when I get to Sydney, can anyone suggest a place/club please?

After Sydney I'm travelling up into Queensland towards Cairns - would you recommend anyplace in particular worth stopping to do some flying?

Try General Flying Services at Bankstown whilst in Sydney then when you get to Cairns, look up the North Queensland Aero Club.

Redcliffe Aero Club have C172s. They're on the northern outskirts of Brisbane.

North QLD Aero Club operate a number of 172's. I flew VH-JER while in Cairns. A nice aircraft at relative prices. Enjoy the flight out to the reefs

I can arrange private hire of a 172 in Cairns for $130/hr (better than local rates of about $180).

But you need 250 hrs.

Redcliffe Aero Club have just announced a new deal.
Membership is now $80 per year (halved). C172's are available to members for a 5% reduction for standby bookings (except weekends). This makes their C172's about $138 per hour TACHO including GST which is about 25% less than VDO hire. This is a great deal.
