Will the Ansett name return?
Hi all
Who currently owns the Ansett logo, name, colour scheme etc? I presume that it is still owned by the liquidators of Ansett.
Logically one would expect the liquidator to sell of the name as teh brand is quite valuable. Although the airline went bust, I'm sure that there are lot of industry people and passengers who would love to see the Ansett name back on planes.
Do you think that there is any chance that someone will buy the name and we will again see Ansett in the skies? It would be a marketing coup if Qantas was to buy the name and call its new low cost airline "Ansett". Lot of Ansett devotees would flock to the new budget airline.
cheers Peter

I think it would be bad for business if they brought the name back. Ansett was a failed airline, to make another airline with the same name would be like making a new boat called the Titanic. People wouldn't trust it because they would be expecting it to fail again, shares wouldn't be worth as much, etc.
But I'm no businessman, so what do I know
