Adelaide Pilot Commits Suicide

It is with regret I have to advise you that I have just heard that the pilot who was sacked from O'Connors here in Adelaide earlier this year has taken his own life.

I will not name him in, in line with PPrune "good protocol" but understand he had lost a leg in a car accident some years back and went into drugs rather than seek medical help. Also, he has recently been in court thanks to CASA.

I did not know him personally but it is tragic when a fellow aviator dies so unless anyone can say otherwise - may he rest in peace.

Air North, Lloyds, Air Ambulance, Russia someplace I can't spell, O'Connors.

Having started this post and to allow those who knew him to be better informed I have been told he worked as follows:

Air North, Lloyds, Air Ambulance, Russia someplace I can't spell, O'Connors.

Divorced, 1 kid apparently in Russia.

Hope that helps.

Was it a car accident or a landmine which cost him the leg? Just like to know if I have the right person.

Unhappy

Wiz, I think you and I both know who he was. Landmine in Africa wasn't it?

A pretty sad day when this happens.

Rest in Peace.

Hi Hugh,

Assuming that's the case, yes I knew him.

A sad end to a troubled life.

Condolences to all close to him.

Sorry folks, it was a land mine apparently in Eutrea or however you spell it (African country) and apparantley he was due in court again soon in connection with O'Connors case.

Also heard (could be rumour) he had a relationship with some russian girl going back about 3 years that might be a factor.

But others tell me he was married to some Sheila who flew so now i am really confused.

Anybody know if he was married to a Ruskie or an Oz ?!!

And thank you for sharing the same love... with me.

Look up Johnathon Livingston Seagull - See you both there... one day.
