Airline Lifestyle on Oz

Hello everyone

I have always wanted to know, what the lifestyle for a professional pilot is like here in Australia. If you fly for Virgin, Qantas, or any regional airline I would appreciale your comments.

How long you are away from home for at any given time? do you get to define where 'home' is or does your boss tell you where to operate from?

I have heard from a friend that Qantas pilots spend a week or so away, then a week at home to do whatever they like... is this true? I presume it would vary for different pilots and the type of airline they are flying for.

Thanks everyone for your comments- Marz
