Question C172 off the RWY at YDON

Was at Dowerin this morning and found a C172 sitting on its tail in the trees. It looks like it just ran off the edge and by the looks of things there wasn't much dammage (but i was trying to land so i didn't get a good look)

At 1st i thought it was just an interesting parking spot, but the strip inspection revealed more light, much to my surprise!!

Anybody heard what happend?

CC

I hear it was SYA from Singapore Flying College? Anyone confirm or deny?

Anyone know what happened?

It was from Singapore Flying College.

From what i've been told this week, it had a partial engine failure, then a complete engine failure while on final.

It made the Mayday call on the company freq, so not every1 heard it. A company baron then picked up the pilot.

Any reports in regard to injuries or the like? Hopefully it was like James Bond - shaken, not scarred. (Dry, I know.)

Cheers,

Soulman.

But, if that was the case, and it had total engine failure, why are both props twisted?

How bad is SYA? Repairable?
