Post GWA to operate from Adelaide

Just noticed in a local paper that GWA is set to commence RPT operations from Adelaide this month using their B1900C. I see that they are going to operate 2 daily flights into Kingscote.

Does anyone else know if they are going to operate into any other ports from Adelaide?

Last I heard that they were going to take on the AD- PLC route as well.

I'm not sure if Kangaroo Island can support 3 airlines, but I guess time will tell.

Red face

GWA are well known for chasing work which someone else has set up. Bout time GWA created their own work rather than trying steal everyone elses. Hope this one backfires like most of them have.

Believe the show is being ran by two ex Emu Airways personnel (one's name rhyming with "club"). I too doubt whether the K.I. route can support 3 operators or the PLC one either for that matter. Methinks there are some very interesting times ahead in the near future for aviation in the Adelaide area. It will be a real eye-opener to see who shafts whom.

Thanks for the info.

I also heard that they weren't doing too well over in the west. Seems like this could be a last ditch effort by the company to remain profitable.

So the companies in trouble and their recovery plan is to move the operation to Adelaide, start RPT operations and compete with two established operators on marginal routes.
Sounds like a great plan.

The two 1900's that are registered to GWA are VH-FWA & VH-IYP.

Beech V Metro

Does the Pope sh!t in the woods. Damn straight.

1900 is about 20% more effective at loosing money than the Metro. Big fuel bills, big maintenance bills, slower, and all for about $1 mill US more than the pencil.

23 Metros in a Row is outdone by 1900 beeches in two (or more) straight lines!
