A question for United pilots
Do you guys and girls get to do observation flights before converting to a new type or before initial training?
Incase you do, do you get paid for these flights? Thanks |

Incase you do, do you get paid for these flights? Thanks I also believe new hires are required to do 2(??) observation legs. I think that is after initial equipment training is complete but I'm less certain of that. Those are the only mandatory observation trips that I'm aware of. |
No, out of the schoolhouse then IOE, you can ride Jumpseat if you wish to observe on your own time but not required.

You’re right Bafanguy, I don’t fly with new hires much these days but I did last week and they are required to observe, next round is on me !
